Privacy Policy
Comprehensive disclosure of our data practices, Google AdSense advertising cookies, browser local storage usage, and student privacy commitments.
Summary of Core Principles
Tenderpoints™ Hub is an open-access medical board-preparation platform engineered for medical students and healthcare trainees. We do not sell personal information and do not collect protected health information (PHI). We utilize Google AdSense to sustain free platform operations. Third-party advertising vendors use cookies to serve relevant educational and contextual ads. You retain complete control over your advertising preferences and cookie choices.
1 Scope & Educational Commitment
This Privacy Policy describes how Tenderpoints Hub (“we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information when you visit or interact with tenderpoints.org (the “Platform”). Our core mission is delivering high-yield, free board-preparation resources for COMLEX-USA (Level 1, Level 2-CE, Level 3, COMAT) and USMLE (Step 1, Step 2-CK, Step 3).
We are committed to operating transparently. Standard access to our question banks, clinical compendium chapters, diagnostic calculators, podcasts, and visual atlases is available without creating an account or providing your name, phone number, or physical address.
2 Zero Collection of Protected Health Information (HIPAA Compliance)
Tenderpoints Hub is purely an academic education and board-preparation platform. We do not provide clinical medical services, medical advice, patient diagnosis, or healthcare treatment.
Under no circumstances do we collect, store, transmit, or process Protected Health Information (“PHI”) as defined under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA). All clinical vignettes, diagnostic images, laboratory values, and procedural walkthroughs presented on the Platform are synthetic educational simulations, anonymized board-style scenarios, or peer-reviewed open-access scientific assets published under Creative Commons licensing.
3 Google AdSense & Third-Party Advertising Cookies
To keep Tenderpoints Hub 100% free and open-access for every medical student without charging subscription fees or requiring paywalls, we display advertisements provided by Google AdSense and third-party advertising partners.
Mandatory Advertising Disclosures:
- Third-Party Vendor Cookies: Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to Tenderpoints Hub or other websites across the Internet.
- Google Advertising Cookies: Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to our visitors based on their visit to our sites and/or other sites on the Internet.
- Web Beacons & Measurement: Third-party ad networks or servers may use cookies, JavaScript, or Web Beacons in their advertisements and links that appear on Tenderpoints Hub, which are sent directly to users' browsers. They automatically receive your IP address when this occurs. These technologies are used to measure the effectiveness of advertising campaigns and personalize advertising content.
Tenderpoints Hub has no access to or control over these cookies used by third-party advertisers. We encourage you to consult the respective privacy policies of these third-party ad servers for more detailed information on their practices.
4 User Opt-Out Rights & Ad Personalization Controls
You have full rights and straightforward mechanisms to control how advertising cookies are used and to opt out of personalized advertising:
Manage your ad personalization preferences or turn off personalized ads served by Google across the web.
Opt out of third-party vendor cookies for personalized advertising through the Digital Advertising Alliance (DAA).
Opt out of behavioral advertising across members of the Network Advertising Initiative (NAI).
For visitors in the European Economic Area (EEA) and United Kingdom to manage interest-based advertising.
Additionally, you may choose to disable cookies through your individual browser options. Detailed information about cookie management with specific web browsers can be found at the browsers’ respective websites (Google Chrome, Apple Safari, Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft Edge). Disabling cookies will not restrict your ability to study questions, view atlases, or read textbook chapters on Tenderpoints Hub.
5 Local Browser Storage & User Preferences
To provide a seamless, ultra-fast studying experience without requiring login credentials, Tenderpoints Hub utilizes your browser’s client-side localStorage API. The following keys are stored exclusively on your device:
tenderpoints-do-mode
Remembers your active curricular track (DO / COMLEX mode with osteopathic principles vs. MD / USMLE mode).
tenderpoints-theme
Stores your dark/light interface preference (defaulting to the high-contrast obsidian dark theme).
qbank_progress / session_state
Saves active quiz answers, question strikethroughs, and highlighted rationale locally so your progress is preserved across page refreshes.
This data resides locally on your browser. It is never sold, shared with advertisers, or transmitted to remote tracking servers. You can clear this data at any time by clearing your browser cache and cookies.
6 Web Analytics & Infrastructure Server Logs
Like most modern web platforms, our hosting infrastructure (Vercel edge network and Cloudflare DNS) collects standard technical log information generated during HTTP requests. This includes:
- Internet Protocol (IP) addresses (anonymized or truncated for diagnostic security)
- Browser type and version
- Internet Service Provider (ISP)
- Date and time stamp of access
- Referring / exit pages and requested resource URLs
This data is used solely to maintain platform security, diagnose DDoS attacks or server errors, measure Core Web Vitals (Largest Contentful Paint, Cumulative Layout Shift), and optimize edge caching speeds. It is not linked to personally identifiable student profiles.
7 External Links & Open-Access Educational Resources
Tenderpoints Hub links to verified, open-access medical literature, public health guidelines (CDC, WHO, NIH, PubMed), medical board portals (NBOME, NBME), audio podcasts (such as Divine Intervention Podcasts hosted on Libsyn), and community tools (AnkiWeb).
Please be aware that once you click an external link leaving tenderpoints.org, this Privacy Policy no longer applies. We have no responsibility or liability for the content, privacy practices, or data handling of external third-party websites.
8 Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA)
Tenderpoints Hub is an advanced medical education platform targeted exclusively at medical students, resident physicians, fellows, and licensed healthcare professionals.
We do not knowingly solicit, collect, or maintain personal information from individuals under the age of 13 in compliance with COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act). If you believe a minor under 13 has submitted personal information to our contact email, please contact us immediately, and we will promptly delete such records.
9 Policy Amendments & Contact Inquiries
We may periodically revise this Privacy Policy to reflect platform improvements, changes in relevant privacy regulations, or updates to advertising network standards. All updates will be published to this page with a revised effective date. Your continued use of the Platform following any modifications constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
Our student-led editorial team is available to address any inquiries regarding our privacy standards or platform policies.
